The Vintage Wrist Watch Company has dated this piece to the 1890s.
The movement is fully signed and the serial number 8817521 which dates it back to 1898. The movement is protected by an inner hinged cover.

The watch itself measures 53.7mm diameter excluding the winding stem and the loop. The case is .935 silver (which is purer than sterling .925 silver) The case is stamped .935 and was made by the Illinois watch case company. The case has light surface marking from use and a couple of tiny mild bruises to the edge but overall it is in nice condition for an 1890s piece.

The glass lens is in nice condition.
The signed white enamel dial has a couple of faint surface marks although not noticeable to the naked eye.
The watch has its original blued steel hands.
The watch will be sent in a new presentation box.
