Antique Silver Omega Pocket Watch

Antique silver Omega pocket watch.

The watch has a stem-winding movement which is working nicely. The movement is signed with the Omega name and the serial number 4,502,347 dates it back to around 1914. The movement is protected by an inner hinged cover.

The watch measures 51mm diameter excluding the winding stem and the loop. The case is 800 silver and there are Continental hallmarks inside both of the case backs together with the early Omega logo. Originally there would have been a rose gold wash around the bezel and also the edge of the case back but a lot of this has worn off over the years – this style of case is known as galonne and it was very popular in the Scandinavian countries at the beginning of the early 1900s. The front of the case is in good condition while there is a little unevenness to the hinged back.

The acrylic lens is in good condition.

The signed dial is in lovely condition with ornate hands, again typical of the galonne style.

The watch comes in a new presentation box.
