The Vintage Wrist Watch Company has dated this piece to the 1930s.
The watch has a Swiss made Cyma movement which is working nicely.
The case is nickel and it is in good condition, just some unevenness to the hinged back.

The inside of the case back is signed Meyer & Studeli. This tells us that the Cyma movement is a later replacement movement, probably a more economical option than a repair if the original movement was badly water damaged for example.

The curved lens is in good condition.
The dial is signed Mappin, the original retailer of the watch. It is in its original finish and is in good condition, just a shade or two of darkening.
A new leather strap has been fitted.
The watch comes in a new presentation box.
