1930s Favor Full Hunter Pocket Watch

1930s Favor full hunter pocket watch.

The watch has a stem-winding movement which is working nicely. The movement is signed with the name Favor, a brand name registered by at least nine companies over the years but we believe this to be a Schätzle & Tschudin piece. The movement is protected by an inner dust cover.

The watch measures 51mm diameter excluding the winding stem and the loop. The watch has a good quality gold plated case, originally guaranteed to wear for 20 years. The case is beautifully detailed on all surfaces and is in good condition, just the odd minor mark. The front cover has the initials FH within the cartouche.

The winding crown pushes in to open the front cover. Inside there is an acrylic lens which is in good condition.

The dial is signed with the word Ankra. This is German for anchor (for Swiss watches, we see ancre). Ankra is what we call a lever escapement, which is the basic design for mechanical watches. The dial has has some age related marking and some darkening but overall a charming appearance with patterned hands, a subsidiary seconds dial and outer minute markers.

The watch will be sent in a new presentation box.

With regards to appraisals / valuations, we receive a huge number of information requests each day and unfortunately do not have the manpower to deal with them all individually. Our advice would be to contact a local auctioneer for a full appraisal.
