19th Century Miniature of a Lady

Description

A 19th Century miniature of a pretty woman with fair curls, hand painted on ivory. Rather an ethereal feel to this miniature evoked by the delicacy of touch and the pastel colouring, especially the shaded blue green background. The woman wears a gossamer-like headdress of similar delicacy and has a wistful gaze.

Measurements: 4.5cms width, 5.5cms length of painting on ivory (with frame 8cms x 9cms).
