Comprising of a two-over-three graduated drawer design, the drawers feature moulded fronts, with old replacement brass swan neck handles and shaped escutcheons. The drawers also include old replacement lever locks (with working key). The chest is constructed of solid oak, with oak lined interiors; it also retains its original oak backboards. The drawers are in good working order; they are clean inside and close flush to the frame. The chest is raised on what we believe to be a later stand (probably made during the Victorian period), which is constructed with ring turned bulbous supports, united by wavy stretchers, forming a sturdy frame. The stand rests on pad feet. The chest is of extremely good quality and is made from solid oak; thus, it is heavy to lift! The chest on stand dismantles into two sections (see photos), allowing for easy transportation and access into the home.

Condition Report:
This chest is in excellent condition having been cleaned and French polished by hand in our workshop. There are nominal old use marks to the top, corners and leading edges and inside of drawers but nothing significant considering the age of the item (please see photos). The drawers feature old replacement brass swan neck handles and shaped escutcheons. The drawers close flush to the frame and incorporate old replacement brass lever locks (with a working key). The chest is raised on what we believe to be a later stand (probably made during the Victorian period), which is constructed with ring turned bulbous supports, united by wavy stretchers, forming a sturdy frame. The stand is sturdy and free from any breaks. Original oak backboards. The chest benefits from a lovely deep rich oak colour, with a wonderful grain configuration. The chest is of good quality, solid in joint and ready to use.
