Andros Antiques has dated this piece to the Edwardian era.
The two doors have a lovely oval panel of curl Mahogany Veneer to their centre, with radiating outer areas with line decoration. The solid Mahogany top is beautifully figured, and benefits from a decorative crossbanding.
The drawer is of a good length and is solid oak lined as are the two cabinet interiors, which is a sign of quality cabinet making. The rich Mahogany colour helps to set off the substantial brass handles.
This is a very versatile piece of furniture, that you could even sit at for writing as there is 24in/61cm of leg clearance height underneath the apron.
