Tom Scott Antiques has dated this piece to the 1850s.
Lovely proportions to this commode, being just a three drawer, it is of course lower and will work well in a number of positions, such as a hall console, a decorative living room piece or as a bedroom storage piece with those three full width and oak lined drawers.

The brass inlay is a lovely contrast with the rich mahogany and also these fabulous handles. You will notice in the photos, there is evidence of a change of handles at some point, but the current brass handles are of the period, so it is curious! It seems they have been changed, but perhaps kept safely and then these have been replaced as they should have been.
The condition is good throughout and it has been fully cleaned and polished.
