Oliver Sargent Antiques has dated this piece to the 1940s.
The case is of a different alloy construction compared to the RAF issued version and this one retains a high proportion of its original case plate. This Navy version also has its correct spring bars and its correct flat winding crown. The stainless-steel snap back is fully signed as is the exceptionally fine Omega 16 jewel 30T2 movement that is in full working order. Because of the different case construction, I think it makes the Naval version a much better alternation to the RAF Alloy version, that is very prone to bad case wear and lug end damage. Diameter approx. 33.5mm excluding the winding crown.
