Tom Scott Antiques has dated this piece to the 19th Century.
This is a very stylish and decorative piece of furniture, but it is also quite refined and has a simplicity about it which is what attracted me to it, also the beautiful glow of this satin birch and the contrasting ebonised mouldings to the pair of columns.

Great proportions to this sideboard, not too large so it won't overpower a room, but of a good size so you can place a pair of lamps and hang a medium size mirror above as shown ( examples only and not included in the price! ).
The ebonised stringing runs throughout the piece and gives a good contrast but also helps keep the proportions light too.

The two drawers are well made as you would expect and retain their original working locks, as does the pair of doors below. Internally, there have been some alterations at some point as the two sections are slightly off centre, so it suggests it once held something larger in the lefthand side than the right so it was altered to accommodate.
In all, a very decorative and honest piece in good condition, a fabulous colour and would work in many positions.
