Victorian Mahogany Side Cabinet

19th century
Description

Circa 1880, Victorian mahogany rectangular side cabinet. The solid mahogany top has a raised shaped gallery at the back which tapers down above a simple frieze. The mahogany doors with fielded panels open to a single, removable shelf and the sides form pilasters. The lock is stamped J & T Scott of Edinburgh (quality cabinet makers from the 19th-early 20th centuries). Beneath is a simple moulded edge and it stands on an enclosed plinth.
