A rare William and Mary period late 17th century five drawer marquetry chest. Each drawer with intricate inset panels depicting pairs of lyre birds. The top surface having a central quartered oval panel of floral design flanked by further design panels in each corner. Unusually for this period the carcass and veneered front is mahogany, a wood rarely used at the time by English cabinet makers.
