Tom Scott Antiques has dated this piece to the 19th Century.

There is a "frieze" drawer to the top, three further drawers and you also have a well concealed drawer in the plinth base too, so the commode gives you great storage.
The original marble top is in super condition and is shaped to the front corners and with a beaded edge. Well cleaned and has polished up nicely.

This commode chest of drawers would obviously work well as a bedroom storage piece, but being so decorative, I often find these work really well in living rooms, halls as an alternative to a console table, a server in a dining room, lots of options as it is something that is lovely to look at!

The drawers are all running smoothly and also should mention, the commode is typically French so it doesn't have any drawer handles and you open the drawer by pulling on the key. If this is not going to work for you, we can discuss fitting suitable period style handles for you.

Also, you will see how it works as a decorative furnishing piece with a French gilt mirror above, a pair of lamps and a pair of French gilt armchairs ( all priced individually ).
