A large 1917 Elgin pocket watch & chain.

The watch has a stem-winding movement which is ticking away well and the time keeping is good to within around five minutes over 24 hours. The movement is signed with the Elgin name and it has the serial number 19918622 which dates it back to 1917.

The watch measures 58.6mm diameter excluding the stem and the loop so it is a larger than the standard 50mm pocket watches. The case was made by the Keystone watch case company and is made of Silveriod. It is a good solid case with a screw-on bezel and case back. The case has light surface marks from use but overall it is in nice condition.

The glass lens is in nice condition.

The dial is enamel and it is signed Elgin, U.S.A. It has several very faint hairline cracks although hardly noticeable to the naked eye but otherwise it is in nice condition.

The watch has blued steel hands.

The watch comes on a vintage nickel chain which measures 29.5 cm including the T bar and clasp.

The watch comes in a new presentation box.
