Gents silver Election wrist watch, 1929.

The watch has a 16-jewel hand-winding movement, signed Election, which is working nicely.

The brand name Election was registered several times by Les Fils de L. Braunschweig of La Chaux-de-Fonds, the first version registered in 1914.

The watch measures 25mm wide excluding the winding crown and 36mm high excluding the lugs. The case is silver and there are hallmarks on the back of the watch for Glasgow 1929 with an importer's mark for Sylvain Dreyfuss. Overall the case is in good condition, just the odd minor mark.

Sylvain Dreyfuss was a member of the family who founded Rotary watches and imported them into Britain. Therefore having his mark on this watch tells us that the movement and case are not original to each other although both are of the same period.

The curved lens is in good condition.

The dial is signed Election. It is in its original finish with original blued hands, a subsidiary seconds dial and an outer minute track. There is some darkening to the finish but it is still easy to read the time.

A later brown leather strap has been fitted.

The watch will be sent in a new presentation box.
