Antique Waltham P S Bartlett full hunter pocket watch, 1918.

The watch has a high grade 17-jewel stem-winding movement with gold star wheel regulator, P S Bartlett grade, which is working nicely. The movement is fully signed and the serial number 22,068,480 dates it back to 1918.

The Bartlett grade was named after Patten Sargeant Bartlett who was one of the early employees of the Boston Watch Company which went on to become the Waltham Watch Company. He subsequently left Waltham to work for the National Watch Company at Elgin Illinois but eventually returned to Waltham to work as a salesman before opening his own wholesale business.

The movement is protected by an inner cover.

The watch measures 50mm diameter excluding the winding stem and the loop. The case is gold filled and has engine turned detail to both the front and back. There is light surface marking but overall the condition is good.

The winding crown pushes in to open the front cover. The watch glass is in good condition.

The signed dial looks super to the naked eye with blued steel hands, a subsidiary seconds dial and an outer minute track. If viewed through a jeweller's loupe, there is a faint short hairline between 11 and 12.

The watch will be sent in a new presentation box.
