Georgian Style Walnut Chest on Chest

19th century
Description

Circa 1880, early Georgian-style figured walnut chest on chest. Surmounted by a cavetto moulded cornice which is over a simple cross banded frieze. The upper section has ribbed, canted corners and 2 short and 3 long graduated drawers with cross banded and mirror matched walnut fronts and pierced brass handles. The lower section has a tooled leather writing slide over 3 conforming long drawers, all on a moulded base with shaped bracket feet.
