Ww1 Waltham Marquis Pocket Watch, Aviation

The watch has a 15-jewel stem-winding movement, Marquis grade, which is working nicely. The movement is fully signed and the serial number 20,211,715 dates it back to 1915.

The movement is protected by an inner hinged cover which has a 1918 'token of esteem' inscription from the Aero Tool Room at CM Ltd.

The watch measures 50mm diameter excluding the winding stem and the loop. The case is 10ct gold plate and was made by the Dennison Watch Case Company, a prolific manufacturer of cases for various watch manufacturers. Aaron Dennison had a close working relationship with Waltham and supplied the majority of their cases for the UK market. There are a few little marks to the hinged case back and general surface marks.

The watch glass is in good condition.

The white enamel dial has its original blued steel hands, a subsidiary seconds dial and an outer minute track. There are two short hairline cracks underneath the sub seconds dial but other than that it is in good condition.

The watch will be sent in a new presentation box.
