Gents 1950s Mudu Doublematic Wrist Watch

Gents 1950s MuDu Doublematic wrist watch.

The watch has an automatic movement, an AS 1700 which came in 17, 21, 25 and 30 jewel versions, this one has the 30 jewels. The movement is signed MuDu on the rotor.

The watch measures 31.5mm diameter excluding the winding crown and the lugs. Compared to today's modern watches, the MuDu is on the smaller side so it would suit a slimmer wrist.

The case is gold plated and it is in good condition with just minor marking, nothing serious at all. The signed case back states that the watch is waterproof but, as with any vintage watch, it should be kept away from water and moisture.

The winding crown has the MuDu M logo.

The lens is in good condition.

The signed dial is in its original finish with original hands and centre seconds hand. The copper coloured border running through the number markers is an unusual and handsome feature.

A new leather strap has been fitted.

The watch will be sent in a new presentation box.

With regards to appraisals / valuations, we receive a huge number of information requests each day and unfortunately do not have the manpower to deal with them all individually. Our advice would be to contact a local auctioneer for a full appraisal.
