1960s Garrard pocket watch and chain.

The watch has a good quality stem-winding movement, Landeron 2142, which is working nicely.

The watch measures 50mm diameter excluding the winding stem and the loop. The case is gold filled and it is in good condition, just minor marking. The hinged case back has a long service inscription from British Rail.

The watch glass is in good condition, as is the dial with original hands. It is signed with the Garrards name, the original retailers of the watch.

Garrards was founded in 1735 by George Wickes. They designed, manufactured and retailed luxury jewellery, silver and watches. The company is still trading today and as well has having their headquarters in Mayfair, London, they also have a presence in Harrods, London, Geneva, Lebanon, Qatar, Dubai, Moscow and Hong Kong. Garrard was the Crown Jeweller of the United Kingdom, charged with the upkeep of the British Crown Jewels from 1843 to 2007.

The watch comes with a double albert, with each chain measuring 25cm long including the T-bar and the clasp.

The watch and chain will be sent in a new presentation box.

With regards to appraisals / valuations, we receive a huge number of information requests each day and unfortunately do not have the manpower to deal with them all individually. Our advice would be to contact a local auctioneer for a full appraisal.
