Really lovely example of a late C17th English solid oak ''two part'' chest of drawers.
This is a good honest piece, some restoration which is nothing major and not unusual for a piece of furniture approximately 340 years old.
The chest itself is in good original condition with all drawers running smoothly on their side runners, all with original broad oak plank linings too.
The two planked top and moulded edge are all original and showing some fabulous age, wonderful colour tone too. It really has waxed up beautifully.
Panelled sides to both top and bottom section. The drawers are graduated with a deeper drawer under the top two.
The chest has had a change of handles and also the feet are not original, although they are well turned in oak and look to have been there for some time.
Measuring:
37” or 94cm high
40 1/2” or 103cm wide
23 1/4 or 59cm deep
