Lovely early c19th French walnut and inlaid two drawer commode chest of drawers with original brass handles and a fantastic colour tone too.
The chest is in good condition and I have not over polished it, so it does still have some of its age marks to the top surface, which for a piece like this looks right and adds to the decorative character in my opinion.
The chest would have had originally two locks for the drawers, but these have been removed at some point in its lifetime.
The drawers run well and give good storage if you are looking at this piece as a bedroom storage item, but this style of chest would happily sit as an alternative to a traditional console table or a living room piece.
