Early 18th Century Walnut Bachelors Chest

A rare and intriguing Queen Anne provincial Walnut Bachelors Chest of golden honey colour. The piece is in very good original condition with clean oak linings and back boards, it retains all its original walnut veneers and solid sections with very few patches , the handles are replaced , the hinges are original , the top drawer is a dummy drawer and in its place are two drawers that open up from the ends. The top is constructed from two solid well figured matching boards of Walnut, the drawer fronts are Quarter Inch pieces of walnut applied to about the same thickness of oak apart from the bottom drawers that have solid walnut fronts. Remarkably the ends are made differently from each other too, one end is matched solid Walnut like the top and the other end is a four piece match of walnut on walnut ground work.
