A superb quality Victorian mahogany chest of drawers.
c1860.
This very handsome chest gives a vast amount of storage space. Having seven drawers in total. The three lower drawers graduate in size. The four drawers to the top feature a central "hat" drawer, flanked by three further small drawers. All drawers are constructed from solid mahogany, showing great quality.
Stunning use of mahogany, having highly figured and flame figured veneers.
All the original locks and escutcheons are present. The hat drawer has its own working lock and key.
Original mahogany turned bun-handles.
Standing on a plinth base with flattened bun-feet.
Lovely rich colour and patination to the mahogany.
Overall in excellent, sturdy strong condition. General minor signs of age and use. Good even colour throughout. Minor small veneer repair.
