An 1816 Silver verge fusee pocket watch by William Williams, Carmarthen. A high quality English fusee mechanism, with engraved backcock and backplate. Backplate signed by maker 'William Williams, Carmarthem' and numbered 1552. Original 'bullseye' glass. An enamel dial with black Roman numerals. Multiple watchmakers labels in the case back. Birmingham silver hallmarks date this watch to 1816.
William Williams is noted as working in Carmarthen in 1814 in Loomes 'Watchmakers and Clockmakers of the World' book.
