Antique 1884 English Silver Pocket Watch.

Description

Antique 1884 English silver pocket watch.

The watch has a nice quality English 3/4 plate pin set stem-winding movement which is working well. The movement is numbered 42879. The movement is protected by an inner cover.

The watch measures 48 mm diameter excluding the stem and the loop. The case is silver and has London hallmarks for 1884 and the makers mark for Robert John Pike from Cromwell Street, Coventry . The case has light surface marking from use and wear to the engine turned detail on the back but overall is in nice condition for a 1880s piece.

The acrylic lens is in nice condition with only the odd minor mark.

The white dial has a very faint hairline crack between 7 & 8 o'clock although hardly noticeable but otherwise it is in nice condition.

The watch has its original blued steel hands.

The watch will come in a new presentation box.

With regards to appraisals / valuations, we receive a huge number of information requests each day and unfortunately do not have the manpower to deal with them all individually. Our advice would be to contact a local auctioneer for a full appraisal.
