A William and Mary walnut chest of drawers.
c1690-1700.
Having four long graduating drawers, with half-rounded drawer dividers.

The original design of the chest is in two sections, which makes it very easy to move and maneuver around awkward corners.
The drawers are oak lined opening on side-runners, retaining the original steel locks.

With replacement engraved brass handles, and ornate brass escutcheons, dating from the early 18th century.
The chest is a wonderful colour, rich and warm, having developed a glowing warm patina, very tactile.

Original backboards.
Standing on replacement bun feet, which are stylistically correct.
In excellent antique condition, expected signs of age. Solid, sturdy and strong.
