Tom Scott Antiques has dated this piece to the 19th Century.

The drawers are all solid oak lined and the top drawer is separated into three sections with further oak dividers. Providing good storage, but has a real elegance with it being the serpentine front and quite neat proportions by not being overly deep.

The brass work is amongst the best I have seen, particularly to the front corner columns of the chest and down to the feet. The chest has its original locks and single key for the working locks.
Quarter and chevroned veneered throughout and a fabulous colour tone.

A very fine piece and an unusual find, very few pieces come up such as this.
Certainly suitable for everyday bedroom use, but also would make a fantastic focal piece in a hall or living room, so it can be admired!

In my other listings, you will find a selection of suitable French gilt mirrors to compliment this piece.
