Antique Waltham Bartlett pocket watch, 1906.

The watch has a high grade stem-winding movement, Bartlett grade, which is working nicely. The signed 17-ruby movement is beautifully decorated and has the Church 1885 patent regulator.

The Bartlett grade was named after Patten Sargeant Bartlett who was one of the early employees of the Boston Watch Company which went on to become the Waltham Watch Company. He subsequently left Waltham to work for the National Watch Company at Elgin Illinois but eventually returned to Waltham to work as a salesman before opening his own wholesale business.

As well as being signed, the movement carries the serial number 15,027,369 which dates it back to 1906.

The watch measures 53mm diameter excluding the winding stem and the loop. The case is gold filled and is in good condition. The patterned case back has ornate initials to the screw on case back, possibly reading PW.

The watch will be sent in a new presentation box.
