WW1 S Smith & Sons 8 day pocket watch & Chain.

The watch has a stem-winding movement which is working well. The watch runs for around 5 days on a full wind. The high grade jewelled movement was made by S Smith & Sons who became Smiths watches.

The watch is WW1 period and this particular model was issued to the military although this one would have been for civilian use.

The watch measures 51.1 mm diameter excluding the winding crown and the loop. The nickel case has light surface marks and some mild denting to the back from use but overall it is in nice condition for a WW1 piece.

The acrylic lens is in nice condition.

The white enamel dial has 8 days to the centre, it has old repairs at 4 & 10 o'clock and some faint hairline cracks although not over noticeable to the naked eye .

The watch has blued steel hands.

The watch comes on a nickel chain which measures 34 cm including the T bar and clasp.

The watch and chain will be sent in a new presentation box.
