Oak Serpentine Chest of Drawers

19th century
Description

Circa 1860, oak serpentine chest of drawers. The top in quarter sewn oak has a moulded corner above a configuration of 6 full length serpentine drawers, each with cast brass handles. The fore-edge has acanthus leaf carvings and it has an egg and dart beading between each drawer. Beneath is a shaped ogee moulding with central carving and it stands on carved acanthus leaf feet.
