Antique Longines pocket watch and chain.

The watch has a stem-winding movement, calibre 18.69N, which is working nicely. The movement is signed with the Longines name and the serial number 3,422,981 which dates it back to 1916.

The movement is protected by an inner hinged cover which is signed with the Longines name and it also has details of medals won in Paris, Antwerp, Brussels, Milan and Bern.

The case measures 48mm diameter excluding the winding stem and the loop. The case is nickel and it is in good condition, just a small "ding" to the hinge area of the case back. Other than that, just light surface marks but nothing serious at all.

The watch glass has small marks but is very acceptable.

The signed enamel dial has a hairline crack around number 3 and a small chip just above the centre. Original hands, a subsidiary seconds dial and an outer minute track.

The watch comes with a single nickel chain, 29cm long including the T-bar and the clasp, and also a silver fob which was awarded for a sporting cup in 1951, and is engraved as such on the reverse.

The watch and chain will be sent in a new presentation box.

With regards to appraisals / valuations, we receive a huge number of information requests each day and unfortunately do not have the manpower to deal with them all individually. Our advice would be to contact a local auctioneer for a full appraisal.
