Gents large West End Watch Company wrist watch.

The watch has a hand-winding movement which is working nicely. The movement is signed with the West End logo.

The watch is a very good size at 40mm diameter excluding the winding crown and fixed wire lugs... one of the lugs has an old, and very solid, repair. The case is nickel and overall is in good condition, just some surface marking but nothing serious at all.

The watch glass has a few little marks but is very acceptable for a piece of its age.

The dial is signed West End Watch Company, Bombay, Calcutta, Swiss Made. The visible part of the dial is in lovely condition. There is some damage to the edge but it is covered by the bezel.

The West End Watch Company was based in Geneva and St Imier in Switzerland although they had a major presence in Bombay and Calcutta where they were also the agents for Longines.

The watch has a vintage strap at the moment although, if required, we could fit a new leather strap.

The watch will be sent in a new presentation box.

All of our watches are checked over before listing, and are also checked for accuracy which is usually within around +/- two to three minutes over 24 hours (unless otherwise stated), which is considered respectable for a vintage watch.

We are an on-line only business and do not have facilities for callers. Our offices are open from Monday to Friday 9am to 5pm.

With regards to appraisals / valuations, we receive a huge number of information requests each day and unfortunately do not have the manpower to deal with them all individually. Our advice would be to contact a local auctioneer for a full appraisal.
