The Vintage Wrist Watch Company has dated this piece to the 1900s.
The watch has a patterned stem-winding movement which is working nicely. The movement is fully signed and the serial number 1772323 dates it back to 1903. The starwheel rack and pinion regulator is a nice feature.

The watch itself measures 54mm diameter excluding the winding stem and the loop. The case is gold filled and was originally guaranteed to wear 25 years so a good quality case. There is some plate wear in places, and the detailing is quite worn from years of use. There is a "ding" to the front cover.

The winding crown pushes in to open the front cover.
Inside, there is a glass lens which is in good condition.
The dial is signed Hampden Watch Co. Elegant Roman numerals, red outer minute markers and later 24 hour dial to the centre. Original hour and minute hands (lever set) and sunken subsidiary seconds dial.
The watch will be sent in a new presentation box.
