M Lees and Sons has dated this George III Mahogany Tallboy to the Georgian era.
Capacious mahogany Georgian period mahogany chest-on-chest of 2 short and 6 long 'cock-beaded' drawers of dove-tail joined construction , all fitted with their original mercury-gilded 'swan-neck' brass drop-handles and brass key escutcheons (supplied with the original steel key) .
The corners of the upper section with canted corner reeded uprights . The 3-drawer lower section raised on original substantial bold ,shaped bracket feet .

The drawer linings and backboards all constructed from elm , a regional manufacturing feature probably indicating West Country provenance.
Good consistent rich colour and patination to a high-grade of well-chosen figured mahogany.

Some minor evidence of historic , eradicated and treated woodworm to some of the elm construction.
Has been throughly checked , cleaned and waxed in our workshops .
A useful and elegant tall 2-part chest-of-drawers of practical proportions.
Constructed in the traditional manner in 2 sections for ease of transportation.
