Antique silver Omega pocket watch and chain.

The watch has a stem-winding movement which is working nicely. Early Omega watches such as this were signed underneath the dial rather than on the movement, and the shape of the movement plates confirms it is an Omega. The movement is protected by an inner hinged cover.

The watch measures 46mm diameter excluding the winding stem and the loop. The case is silver and there are Continental hallmarks inside both of the back covers. The inner back cover also has the early Omega stamp.

The case has three little “dings” to the sides and unevenness to the hinged back.

The acrylic has a small 2mm mark but otherwise is in good condition.

The dial is signed with the name of the original retailers, C & J Ganter, Ipswich. Brothers Charles and John were listed as both watch and clock makers and jewellers. The dial is in lovely condition.

The watch comes with a single chain, 28cm long including the clasps. The chain is probably later in date than the watch, the hallmarks are quite rubbed. Each of the links on the clasp has the lion passant mark.

The watch and chain will be sent in a new presentation box.
