Early Nineteenth Century Oak Chest Of Drawers

Status: This item has been sold
Sold by: Prometheus Antiques

A really charming early nineteenth century oak chest of drawers with mahogany crossbanding. The chest stands beautifully with great proportions and is a good small usable size. The whole is in lovely untouched condition with original feet and ebonised wooden knobs. The oak is all quarter cut so has a great figuring as does the flame mahogany. There is a wonderful slightly faded patina giving the oak a lighter feel. There are some small repairs here and there and some of the locks are missing but nothing to deter from the chest as an excellent example of the type. I particularly like the original blue lining paper. A fine, original, and usable late Georgian chest of drawers. C.1820.
