Gents Smiths Astral National 17 wrist watch, made in England.

This model of watch, along with the National 15, was from the 1960s Buy British Campaign, part of a nationwide effort to persuade consumers to purchase British made products.

The watch has a 17-jewel hand-winding movement which is working nicely.

The watch measures 32mm diameter excluding the winding crown and the lugs. The case is gold plated and it is in good condition. The stainless steel case back has some surface scratches.

The lens is in good condition.

The signed dial is in its original finish with original hands and centre seconds with red pointer end.

A later leather strap has been fitted.

The watch will be sent in a new presentation box.
