C19th mahogany military or naval campaign pedestal chest of drawers with a fold-over flap top.

Unusual campaign chest of 3 drawers with typical military-campaign style inset flush-set brass handles and brass key escutcheons, and raised on original detachable screw-in turned wooden feet . The hinged fold-over top opening to form an extended work or writing surface supported on a fold-out hinged mahogany gate.

Fitted with original brass locks manufactured in Birmingham, to all drawers (key lacking) .

Finished and polished to all sides , the reverse with a vertical historic shrinkage crack .

Good original condition throughout, with a pleasing faded mellow colour and patina.
