A very handsome Victorian chest of drawers of excellent quality.
C1870.
This superb chest has two short drawers, over three long graduating drawers. The bottom drawer is particularly deep as it forms part of the plinth base.

The burr-walnut has lovely rich figuring, and wonderful patina.
Retaining the original brass escutcheons and locks, with mahogany turned bun handles, which contrast beautifully with the colour of the walnut Each drawer is mahogany lined, showing the quality of the chest. All drawers are very sturdy and open smoothly.

Standing on flattened bun-feet.
In excellent antique condition. Some historical repairs to the veneers. Minor expected signs of age and use.
Very solid sturdy and strong.
