Description

This is a most attractive Italian walnut chest of drawers beautifully inlaid with a stunning central cartouche in beautiful maquetry. The laurel wreath border surrounds a cherub with a bow and quiver of arrows, playing a flute. The cabinet is inlaid decoratively throughout the piece and has gilt metal ormolu mounts to the drawers and canted corners of the piece. The shaped marble top is in beautiful clean condition in stunning figured rouge marble. There are three useful drawers to the piece with their original gilt metal handles. The chest measures 83 cms high and the marble top is 95 wide by 52 cms deep.
