An antique Waltham P S Bartlett pocket watch, 1903.

The watch has a stem-winding movement, P S Bartlett grade, which is working nicely. The grade was named after Patten Sargeant Bartlett who was one of the early employees of the Boston Watch Company which went on to become the Waltham Watch Company. He subsequently left Waltham to work for the National Watch Company at Elgin Illinois but eventually returned to Waltham to work as a salesman before opening his own wholesale business. The serial number on the movement, 12,676,474 dates the watch back to 1903.

The watch itself measures 55mm diameter excluding the stem and the loop so slightly larger than a standard 50mm pocket watch. The case is gold filled and has a pattern to the screw-on case back. There is some rubbing in places and some wear to the pattern, just through years of use.

The acrylic lens is in good condition.

The signed enamel dial is in good condition. Blued steel hands, a subsidiary seconds dial, outer minute markers and an inner 24 hour dial.

The watch will be sent in a new presentation box.
