19th C. Gillows Golden Oak Chest of Drawers

Description

A Gillows golden Oak chest of drawers of country house proportions, having an arrangement of 3 short and 3 full length drawers all retaining the original locks, escutcheons and Rosewood handles. The whole raised on large melon feet. Super colour to this solid Oak chest, in good condition throughout. English, Circa 1830.

*Gillows of Lancaster & London was one of the most prestigious furniture makers in England throughout the 18th and 19th century, importing and working with only the finest quality timbers and craftsman.

Pieces of Gillows furniture can now be seen in museums in London and Leeds as well as a collection in the Gillows Museum in Lancaster and Tatton Park.
