Description

This is a fine quality French bombe shape commode or chest of drawers with superb detail and exquisite inlay work. The neatly proportioned piece has good ormolu mounts throughout and a beautifully figured griotte de belloc marble top. The chest has great colour and still has its original paper label to the reverse from the retailers J.A Butti & Son. Fine art collectors and dealers in articles of virtue. Queen Street Edinburgh.

The chest dates from around 1890 and measures 85 cms high, being 56 cms wide at the front and 69 cms wide to the back of the marble and 38 cms deep.
