George III Mahogany Chest on Chest

18th century
Description

Circa 1780, George III Spanish mahogany chest on chest. The upper section has cross banded, canted corners surmounted by a moulded dentil cornice and over a cross banded frieze. There are 2 short and 3 long graduated, cross banded and oak lined drawers, with their original circular embossed brass ring handles. The base has a brushing slide and 3 long drawers, sitting above a shaped skirt and it is all standing on its original French bracket feet.
