Fine Welsh Oak Potboard Dresser Base, Circa 1770

Description

Welsh oak dresser base of particularly fine quality, the table surface featuring a plate shelf with a row of five miniature spice drawers flanked by shaped shoes, over a pair of long cock-beaded drawers above three smaller drawers with a fretted apron, raised on boldly-turned front and rear legs united by a potboard. Good colour and surface patination.

Carmarthenshire, west Wales, circa 1770.

Replaced handles and minor historical repairs.
