Fine Georgian Oak Chest of Drawers

A fine Georgian period oak chest of drawers. The chest of drawers stands on shaped bracket feet with graduated drawers rising to two single drawers. The drawers all have excellent quarter cut oak fronts with wonderful figuring and each one is crossbanded in mahogany and has the original handles and escutcheons. The top two drawers are also inlaid with a chequered design and the top of the chest has a pseudo Greek key moulding with a central inlaid keystone design. The chest is in excellent original condition with a great light oak colour and patina. The chest has elegant tall slim proportions and gives a great period county look. C.1780.
