Description

This is a smart Regency period chest of drawers in solid mahogany with nice neat proportions. The chest is of good quality with solid mahogany reeded columns and capitols to the sides and inlaid satinwood banding beneath. The chest has well constructed drawers with cockbeading and solid oak linings. The original locks are present but sadly no key, the brass escutions have a good shape however that will have mirrored the former shape of the original key. The chest is in very good, solid condition overall, it has an historic age related split to the left side but it is quite sound. The solid brass handles are good quality early 20th century replacements in keeping with the period of the chest. This has a good colour throughout and a good antique patina and is raised on elegant bracket feet.

Hard to find with such nice neat proportions, this good quality Georgian chest measures 76 cms wide by 47 cms deep and is 80 cms high.
