A Mahogany Cased Deck Watch Chronometer by Ulysse Nardin, C.1937.

1920 - 1940
Description

A Fine quality mahogany cased deck watch chronometer by Ulysse Nardin, Le Locle & Genève, No. 3018, circa 1937.

An excellent item by the eminent Swiss makers, most probably made for a luxury yacht.

The brass-bound three-tier mahogany case with brass maker's label to the top and numbered to the front, original velvet lined, nickel plated hinges and original hand set key, all in excellent original condition.

The 2¾" silvered and engraved dial with Roman chapters, blued steel spade hands, 56-hour power reserve indicator below the XII, signed to the centre 'ULYSSE NARDIN LOCLE & GENÈVE', with seconds subsidary and numbered in red '3018' within the circle.

The fully serviced three-quarter plate gilt movement with maker's mark and No. 3018, with Earnshaw's spring detent escapement, compensated cut bi-metallic balance, with Breuget blued steel spring and regulator, fully jewelled to the centre arbor.

Cased within a polished brass bowl, with screwed bevelled glass front cover and hand nut at the rear for winding.

A beautiful item in excellent original condition with the movement fully serviced and rated to the highest standard by our horologist who is a Fellow of the British Horological Institute and recipient of the 1977 Worshipful Clockmakers Company bronze medal.

Every single antique dealer on our platform is individually approved by our internal team. We verify their professional trade history, ethical standards, and photographic quality to ensure a secure, high-standard buying environment. Upon joining, every dealer agrees to a strict 9-point code of conduct. While issues can occasionally arise, our dealers typically resolve them swiftly and directly with the buyer. In fact, since our founding in 2002, Sellingantiques has only had to step in to help resolve an issue on roughly five occasions—a true testament to the quality of our dealers and their dedication to your happiness.
Our dealers are highly experienced in packing and shipping fragile, high-value antiques. Because you are in direct contact with the dealer, you will be able to easily go through all available shipping and insurance options together to ensure your item arrives safely.
Antiques are the ultimate green purchase. By choosing historical pieces over newly manufactured goods, you completely eliminate the carbon footprint of modern mass production while preserving exceptional, timeless craftsmanship.
