Small Georgian Mahogany Chest with a Slide

18th century
Description

Good small size early George I / II mahogany chest with a brushing slide. Four long graduated drawers with cock beaded edges and oak linings with the bottom boards running from front to back. Brushing slide above which is also cock beaded with black leather insert. The drawers have their original iron locks, the brass handles are old but not original. The chest stands on bracket feet.

The top is nicely shaped at the corners and has a wide cross banding.

The chest is a lovely colour with good patination from years of waxing and is a gorgeous wee size.
